DSLR Controller was the first and remains the best app to fully control your Canon EOS DSLR from your Android device, through USB cable or Wi-Fi connection. No computer or laptop required, no root required, only a compatible mobile device, a compatible camera, and if connecting through USB, the right cable. We strongly suggest you read up on the website ( http://dslrcontroller.com/ ) about what DSLR Controller can do, how it works, and how to use it, before purchasing. The website contains a wealth of information you should know before using. Not all devices are compatible, especially if you want to use a USB connection. For a free app you can use to test compatibility, see the "Remote Release" app ( http://market.android.com/details?id=eu.chainfire.remoterelease ). Can't give it less than 5 stars. Works great, just like having the lcd of my camera on my tablet. Tried Canon Connect and found it clumbsy. Update. This app has been abandoned and is no longer receiving updates. Still works with my Canon 80d and an old Samsung tablet running Android 4.4 (kitkat). Someday I may have to try Canon Connect again but not looking forward to it

B Kilburn

Absolutely brilliant! Works perfectly with my Canon EOS 1200D.

Does not load

It's working well with my OnePlus 8 pro running Android 11 and my Canon 70D. WiFi works in the same way as the canon camera connect app. Wired usb connection via OTG cable is even better, much faster, better resolution in the image preview.

Mark Stirling

Unusable on newer devices, it works better with my eos r on an old s9 compared to my new s22. I'd give 1 star but there was a time when this app was amazing and almost fully functional. If only they'd go back to updating it, I too would pay a bit more for the features and control via usb.

Not working with canon 7d.I am trying to connect with my Samsung s21. Giving error not supported

2022 UPDATE, Looks to work pretty well with my Canon R6 and a USB C cable to my Pixel 6 Pro. Impressive. Liking it so far. One crash but getting to know it. Happy to pay with more development on the way UPDATE 2016. Works with 5Diii and 7Dii and Sony Z5 Compact but ONLY when you initiate the USB detection process, which can be added to the quick access drop-down panel. Without this step, OTG devices are not detected 2020. Still works with my Huawei devices on usb C using an OTG adaptor. Canon 5Diii and 7D2

App states that it may not work on later version of Android. Noted last update 2017.

Paul Sharp

Excellent, just what I needed to drive my 550D from my phone. Great flexibility and control, allows me to see what the camera sees, even if it's at a low angle. (The 550D does not have a flip out viewscreen).

Colin Heaps

Not supporting newer phones or cameras...developer has died. Do not buy there is no refunding.
